Before we can hang the first sign or paint the first mural, we have to deal with the grit and grime that has accumulated over the years. Our community cleanup days are the foundation of everything we do. There is something deeply satisfying about seeing a pile of discarded debris disappear to reveal the potential of a clean, open space.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors
It is not uncommon to see three generations of a family working side by side with gloves and trash bags. These events are where the real work of community building happens. We swap stories, share cold water under the Valley sun, and take collective ownership of our environment. It is hard work, but the results are immediate and visible.
Setting the Stage for Art
A clean alley is a safe alley, and a safe alley is one where children can play and artists can create. By clearing out weeds and litter, we are literally paving the way for the murals and lighting projects that come next. We invite everyone in Clovis to grab a pair of work gloves and join us for the next scheduled cleanup.
